• The Book Clamps Travel in an oval shaped path so that the book back is in line with the crucial bindingstations like Milling, Gluing and Cover nipping. (in circular path of motion, the book back is always in tangent to the milling and Gluing stations, resulting in non-uniform milling and gluing across the length of the spine.)

There are 6 Identical Book Clamps provided. One of them can be set according to required clamping pressure by inserting the signatures into the clamp and adjusting a Knob. The calibration provided makes it easy to set the other clamps. While in operation, the signatures are fed manually, one after the other into each clamp. If the signatures are difficult to handle, as in the case of thick books, the speed of machine can be reduced for easy feeding.   

The Milling Station is provided with specially designed Milling Cutter and Notching Teeth. The Milling Cutter removes paper in chips/strips form, minimizing the formation of dust. The paper waste is extracted by a powerful Suction device into a Dust Bag. The milling station is protected by Safety Doors. The Milling Cutter can be lowered and disengaged, by a lever, while using the machine for cover pasting Sewn/Stitched books.  

The Gluing Station Consists of 3 Roller Type Applicators. The first Roller penetrates the adhesive into the Notches, the second one builds up adhesive layer along the book spine and the Third, a Reverse Spinner, removes excess adhesive from the spine. A unique Encoder Based System cuts off Adhesive from the Head and Tail end of the book. This results in saving of adhesive as well as avoids unwanted squeeze outs at the Nipping Station. The Tank is heated by 3 Strip Heaters. The temperature is controlled, accurately, through a RTD based Circuit.  

The Cover feeder loads from top and feeds from bottom. The lower-most cover is separated from the pile by suction and transferred to a Pre Setter. Covers can be creased On-Line. This Cover is aligned accurately against the Book Block on the Pre Setter, provide immediately after the feeder. The cover will be picked up only if a book is fed into the corresponding book clamp.(No Book - No Cover). If more than one cover is picked up, by chance, the machine is brought to a stop. This avoids wastage of covers.  

A moving type cover nipping station that can handle high speeds of operation, is provided after the Presetter. The Nipping Pressure and the Cover Breaking Pressure can be adjusted to give a perfect Book back.
